We are proud to say that we stand shoulder to shoulder with the most well-known academic and treatment centers in the nation and our leadership is globally renowned for their work in the field of psychiatry. 

Lindner Center of HOPE is a charter member of an elite group of hospitals and universities in the National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC).  The Center joins Columbia, Duke, Harvard and Johns Hopkins, among others, dedicated to the transformation and acceleration of the understanding and treatment of depressive and bipolar mood disorders by developing an integrated network of leading Depression Centers. The multidisciplinary outreach programs of the NNDC will help to better diagnose and treat depression and bipolar illness and associated mood disorders (e.g., PTSD), as well as eradicate stigma associated with these diseases. Lindner Center of HOPE is one of 16 members of the NNDC and was invited to join within three months of opening.

Lindner Center of HOPE earns global recognition as diagnostic and treatment services and research are under the direction of two of the top 10 most cited scientists in the world. Dr. Paul E. Keck, Jr., M.D. is President and CEO, Lindner Center of HOPE, and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, The Craig and Frances Lindner Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience and Executive Vice Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Susan L. McElroy, M.D., is Chief Research Officer, Lindner Center of HOPE, and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience.

  • Dr. Susan McElroy and Dr. Paul Keck attracted among the highest total citations to their papers in indexed journals of psychiatry and psychology during the past 10 years.
  • Dr. Paul Keck, a researcher in Bipolar Illness and psychopharmacology, is the author of more than 300 scientific papers in leading medical journals and has also contributed over 160 reviews and chapters to major psychiatric textbooks.
  • Dr. Susan McElroy is internationally known for her research in bipolar illness, eating disorders, obesity, impulse control disorders and pharmacology. She has published more than 500 academic articles, books, book chapters, abstracts and professional letters in the fields of psychiatry and clinical neurology.
